The devastating impact of US sanctions is well documented, so severe that countless deaths have been caused by US sanctions.
The USA maintains an official list of countries subjected to sanctions. Prominent names such as Cuba and Venezuela appear – for them sanctions have been highly damaging especially affecting the population.
Nicaragua is also on that list.
A further example of sanction related matters is the huge sum of gold held by the BoE and Deutsche Bank.
This case will consider the “one voice” doctrine.
Venezuela has referred to the Bretton Woods institutions – the World Bank and IMF in a related matter.
